As you probably already know, Bright Eyes is an indie rock band consisting of singer-songwriter Conor Oberst, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, and a rotating lineup of collaborators drawn mainly from Omaha's indie music scene. Oberst songwriting has been compared to Bob Dylan, although his themes are often darker, dealing with depression, anxiety, and alcoholism. Bright Eyes has remained signed to the independent label Saddle Creek Records, although the band has enjoyed popularity that rivals that of their major label contemporaries.
